Groups, ministries and organisations


  • JAM CLUB - for young people aged 3-13years
    Meets every Sunday at 10.30am. JAM (Jesus and Me) begins in church, and on the 1st and 4th Sunday the young people remain for a special all age service. On the 2nd and 3rd Sundays of the month, JAM leave during the first song and have their own church next door in the community centre. Games, crafts, snack, praise, teaching and prayer.
  • WOMENS GROUP - time out and fellowship for women of all ages
    Meets quarterly in church for breakfast, muffins and an inspirational speaker. For further information please contact Christiane Cook on 481 0747. 
  • MENS GROUP - for the men of to get to know themselves, each other and God better -
    Meets on the first Friday of the month at Huyton Conservative Club (7.30pm for 8pm). Programme varies each night but generally a discussion followed by prayer, then we move next door for a pint For details speak to Jim Shearon.
  • BIBLE STUDY/HOME GROUPS  Meet term time on Wednesdays (2pm in the Vicarage, 8pm in Neil's home). We generally follow the Sunday theme - a chance to look reflect on the sermon/talk, ask questions and delve a bit deeper into the subject. All welcome at anytime.
  • MOTHERS UNION
    Meets on the third Thursday of the month in church at 7.30pm. Invited speakers, prayer and fellowship followed by a good cup of tea. For further details speak to our Enrolling member Mrs Brenda Willams
  • MUSIC GROUP
    Meets regularly to plan/rehearse/worship together in preparation for leading the Sunday services. We are always looking out for people who can sing/play musical instruments. Please speak to a music group member or the Vicar for details.
  • YOUNG PEOPLE'S PRAYER
    Rebecca Richardson heads up this really important ministry. A teenager herself, Rebecca seeks to encourage and nurture the prayer life of the other young people in the church, using the prayer tree in 'Ourspace' (our after church club) and in other ways. The prayer requests left in church are used in our intercessory prayers and Rebecca co-ordinates this also.
  • LUNCH CLUB - 12 noon twice a month, all welcome!
    Meets usually on Fridays at the back of the church. Soup, sandwiches and a cuppa, good company followed by a great film/activity. All are welcome to join us!
  • BANNER GROUP
    Meets usually on the first Monday of the month in our Matthew V centre. Ongoing needlework projects and one-offs are the focus of the evening, but there is a lot of chatting, fun and laughter too! Speak to Irene Wibberely for details.

  • Other groups
    Throughout the month, a wide range of other groups meet at St Gabriels. From Brownies and Guides, to Knowsley KEMS. Please see the newsletter or noticeboard in the porch for further details.
