WORSHIP - A Typical Church Service
"The most eloquent prayer is the prayer through hands that
heal and bless. The highest form of worship is
the worship of
unselfish
Christian service.
The greatest form of praise
is the
sound of
consecrated feet seeking out the lost and
helpless"
[Billy Graham]
Sundays each week provide the opportunity
for the church family to come together
for
Services - to worship, to
study the Bible, to
pray
together, to encourage one
another.
Visitors welcome ....
It can be quite daunting to walk into a
church, especially if you don't know people or
aren't quite sure
what
to do. At St.
Gabriel's, we want you to feel
at ease as quickly
as possible. We have people
located at the
back at all services, who
are there to answer
any
questions etc. Don't be shy - they are
only to pleased to be able to help. Throughout
the service,
announcements are given to
make it easier for you to
participate
fully.
Style of Services
There is a relaxed feel to
most our Services with a mixture of singing
worship songs and hymn,
readings, interactive
teaching and quieter moments of reflection. We
always listen to the Bible being read and use
that to focus
our time thinking
about what God might be saying to us today.
We
pray together as a church but also
provide opportunity for more personal prayer
too.
Music
This varies from traditional
organ, taize & instrumental to
modern worship songs.
We
are always looking to
expand our
repetoire!
Length of Services and other
information
Main services last about 75-80
minutes and a leaflet gives an order of all
the necessary words and
readings. Much of the
service may also be projected on screen. If
you prefer to use a
Bible to follow the
readings, these are
available at the back of
the church Refreshments are available
after all 10.30am
services at the back of the
church - this
gives a
good opportunity to
meet and catch up more informally.
