We may collect the following information:  name  contact information including email address  other information relevant to the occasion eg godparents or sponsor information

We require this information by canon law and some of it, for example your name, and date of baptism or confirmation etc may be entered into local parish registers  Internal record keeping.  We may use the information to keep in touch with you, for example, on an anniversary  To give you information about other deanery events  We will store it securely and safely for future, legitimate inspection by a member of the public (for example, someone researching family history)

 

4. Security We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online, and all paper copies of information we manage, particularly parochial registers will be stored safely either on site or in the designated local authority respository.

All deanery electronic subscriptions and mailouts are GDPR compliant and allow you to take control of your own data including checking what is stored, the ability to immediately end a subscription etc We distribute or share your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

We use a third party service called Mailchimp for all email communications other than direct and personal emails. Our website is hosted by Ionos and has software embedded to prevent data capture and targeting by spam bots.
